Inspire. Affirm. Motivate. Support.
Supporting the Whole Self: strategies for managing stress, mood, anxiety and trauma. This week long workshop provides 15 hours of content that delves into holistic and empowering self-care strategies which address the needs of mind, body, and spirit to decrease and manage stress, mood, anxiety, and trauma. Participants explore concepts (and how & why they work) for skills and techniques such as nutrition and diet modifications (including efficacy of herbs and supplements); guided visualization, hypnosis, and meditation; mantras and positive self-talk; creative arts expression; deep breathing and progressive relaxation; self-massage, acupressure, and acupuncture; energy healing techniques such as Reiki, Emotional Freedom Technique (aka EFT or "Tapping"), and meridian tracing; aromatherapy and essential oils ... and more. The workshop is dense with information about the neuroscience and physical science behind stress, mood disorders, anxiety and trauma. Evidenced based research support that there is strong relationship between psychological, biological, and spiritual factors in conditions such as stress, mood disorders, anxiety, and trauma disorders. Enhance your healing with knowledge about self-care strategies, the relief and healing they can offer, and the science behind how and why they work. Knowledge without action does not move you closer to being able to effectively decrease and manage dysfunctional symptoms of stress, anxiety, mood disorders, and trauma. Work shop participants will be guided through the effective use of many of the somatic and cognitive strategies discussed . The program will also explore resources where participants can further expand their repertoire of self-care knowledge, skills, and strategies. |
